New CA License plate defective paint

I got my license plates from DMV today, and one of them is defected. The paint on the numbers is (dark blue color) is partially missing. It looks like they put it in the envelope when the paint was still wet. The plate is still readable, but I wouldn't want to put it on the car like this. Does anybody know what kind of paint I can use to fix it other than a Sharpie?

I don't want to go back to DMV, it would probably take another month to get a new license plate.

Any suggestions?

Interesting, I'd personally take it back to the DMV because I'm in no rush to put CA plates on my car.

+1 Who wants to put plates on their car? Use it as an excuse to not have a front plate for another few months.

i would say just put one on the back and keep the other one in the trunk and show the officer if you get pulled over
