cold air intake for n55?
i wanted to get the aFe stage 2 cold air intake for my 2011 bmw 335i n55. Any thoughts or suggestion on a cold air intake that fits an n55 engine ? I don't really know much about intake systems so if someone can tell me which company is best for my car.

I ordered aFe DCI stage 2 also, haven't test it yet. But one thing I know is that alot of people use aFe so I think you are going with right choice. If you have mod, it's even better.

I was initially was going to get the Injen till I saw the AFE. I really like the OEM appearance of the AFE and how it uses both of the scoops instead of just one.
Then after reading Shiv's posts regarding the N55/CAI I decided to go for a FMIC instead. As I understand it, the intake system for the N55 from the factory isn't really that restrictive. So you may not see the kind of gains that folks are getting from N54 CAI's. I am curious to know how it works out for you guys, please update once you get yours installed |

In my opinion, none of the current N55 intakes is optimal. A Dinan-style intake is much needed. A Mr.5-like intake can be done, looking at the airbox lid. But it remains to be seen if the N55 can be pushed far enough to need a true cold air intake.
