Tyre manufacturers for streeeetch!

Hi! relativley new to the stretch game, just wondering if there is a preference as far as manufacturer goes when picking tyres to stretch?.

As I understand the is a slight difference with wall profiles some of which are better then others.

I plan on running;

225/40/r18 on a 9.5" wide wheel up front &
265/35/r18 on a 11" wide wheel on the rear

Help please tyre streeetch guru's!!

Toyo t1R stretch great, Cooper Zeon stretch great, Nankang stretch great, Falken 452 are ok. Federal are cheap and stretch good too, Conti stretch pretty well, but are expensive new. normally people don't go for a expensive tire when stretching them out like this.

I run coopers on my car, they are great, current stretch is 19x9.5"et20 w/ 215/35/19 Cooper Zeon 2xs up front and 19x10.5 et22 rear w/ 245/35/19 cooper zeon.

What rims are you running? offsets? suspension? (im interested )

I would say Toyo T1R's are by far the best for minimal clearance situations. As far as pricing, that may be a different story compared to the others stated above. On the other hand, they are great quality and very sticky tires. I personally use them on my car and I like them a lot.

FAARK a 215 on a 9.5 nice! Thanks for the above!

I am going to be running the new workmeister s1r's with gold centre's
front 18x9.5 et29 225/40/r18
rear 18x11 et33 265/35/r18

havent picked and coilovers yet got any suggestions? wheels wont arrive for 12weeks so got plenty of time to drop and roll! I am after something with camber plates, height adustable, dampner and rebound adjustable?? chasing some thing that will go from pretty soft to the extreme?

T1r's would be my last choice for an aggressive stretch. For one they are pricey and offers less contact patch due to the rounded shoulders, second they have a very thick non stretch friendly sidewall. I dont know anyone personally that spends $$$ brand tires to stretch for "performance oriented" usage...mainly stretching is for aesthetics and not ideal for grip.

Heres what I mean with the t1r stretch. Pix below is a t1r 235/30/18 on a 10, the dimple on the side wall is my main concern. A federal/general/kumho would not give you that dimple given the same specs.

235 x.3 (30 series)=70.5 / rim width (10) = stretch ratio of 7.05 which is to risky dangerous for my blood. Ideally I aim for a ratio of 7.6 -8.0 which gives you the healthy 45 degree stretch with normally justifies aggressive camber.

This was on my buddy's car we tried out and yes the rim is on the wrong side for test fit sakes (for those picky "I notice everything" guys). Note that stretch is more than 45 degrees.

Anti-Stretch

I may be the only one but stretching tires looks so wrong on a BMW. Not only that but you expose the lip of the rim to a beating. You will have bends and cracks that will happen.

Not to mention it's not safe and if you decide to take a corner like a BMW is meant to take you have no room for the tire to flex!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. But I would advise against it.
