True but its half the price of the hot air intakes...

In my opinion, basically they both provide the same performance, and honestly, how much hp are you really losing with that hot air on a typical street car that isn't run hard except for spirited sprints/races. Also how well does the stock intake really shield hot air from entering the oem filter? The fact that the stock intake is plastic is already better imo and really the best cai i see is the Dinan one. But the added 8 hp you'll get isn't worth the cost of the Dinan.

^i see your point and you are right, anything other then stock will have a nice increase. i decided UR CAI because of the consumption of air other then the engine bay and of course the sound and looks factor. If i knew the pipping would get that hot i would of went another route or wrapped it.

I'm sure the fact your intake filter is more directly exposed to cooler air, it does help, the question is how much? I bet wrapping it may help, you should try it and report back.
