That's correct - the bumper is very flexible, you just pull the bumper forward, reach in behind and try and shimmy the six clips out. Look at your new grilles and try and get an idea of where the clips are.

Thanks for clarifying

Job Done!!

Working at a steady, not rushed pace - both grilles were removed and replaced in 10 minutes 25 seconds - simply tooooooo e-a-s-y

And I didn't go buy a Torx Driver either, simply used an old Allen Key that was laying around.

I reckon it looks ten times better now: BMW Performance Gloss Black Grilles - ftw!!

Thanks men, I appreciate the kind words!

I love the new look.

To assist others, and to 'give something back' - I have written a tutorial to hopefully assist others when attempting the same thing.

Hope people find it useful.

Cheers

Looks great man

I've been tossing up the idea of the black kidney grills for mine, still undecided. But I suppose for the relative cheap cost of them I could give them a go.

Yeah I was too at first.. mainly because I don't think it looks 'bad' to start with - the regular grilles look sweet, especially on my mineral white paint.

But I gotta admit, since swapping them out I haven't looked back - I love 'em!

Also, people who know nothing about beemers look at it and comment that 'something looks different' about my car... they like it but can't say what it is - when I highlight the grilles and how it now compliments the black window trim and the M black touches at the rear, you see the lights go on for them and they say - shit yeah, thats it - it looks s-w-e-e-t!!

Doooooooo it!!!
