Custom Gauge/Meth Switch Mount (ashtray)

Hey guys. I recently decided to make a panel to mount my boost gauge and a toggle switch for my meth kit. Ill probably do a DIY on how to run the wires and assemble this later but for now here are some pics of it hooked up.

To give credit where credit is due here is the thread that inspired me to do this : http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...mance+meth+diy

Thanks to Former Boosted as usual

Basically all this is is 2 sheets (probably shouldve done 1 looking back but I wanted to make sure it was strong) of lexan plastic ($3 each - home depot) glued together with 3M spray adhesive ($12 - HD) wrapped in leather vinyl fabric ($1.75 - Joann's... lol). all in all it cost less than 20 bucks to make. It costs like 9 bucks if you already have an adhesive. I used a dremel to cut it and a wood burner to smooth the edges.

anyways here are the pics

keep in mind all of these pictures were taken with an iphone lol.

Looks good !
Btw what size gauge is that ?

Fwiw I think if you could fit 3 gauges and your stitch it would be perfect.
Boost gauge, water temp gauge and 1 other gauge.

It's 52.4mm which I think is pretty much the standard gauge size. You might be able to fit 3 but idk about 3 + a switch

also I know the switch isn't for everyone but I like it

That switch has a plastic cover so I cannot be turned on accidentaly.
IMHO it looks like an aircaft swithband is not bad.

I thought it was kinda cool cause it looks extreme like you are turning on something meaningful. When one of my friends saw it he said "houston we have liftoff" lol

I am glad the DIY helped. Try that closed cell foam I used to get a squishy look.
