Oil change question

Hi guys, I'm going to be deployed to Afghanistan for a year and I was wondering if I should get an oil change before I leave? Right now the service indicator says I need a change in about 2200 miles and it'll probably say around 1500 miles by the time I leave. I'm going to leave my E90 with my parents while I'm gone and have them start it up and drive it around the neighborhood once in awhile. I've been trying to look on the net if it's bad to leave the oil in the engine for a long period of time and I've been getting mixed reviews. Any help will be appreciated!

Also consider your fuel system. You probably want to put Sta-bil in.

I vote for changing the oil now, considering it's close to being due and has a lot of contaniments in it.

Put max pressure in the tires (marked on side-walls), help keep them from flat-spotting. Battery tender?

Thanks for the advice Alan. Sta-bil and battery tender is better than having my parents care for it.
