sound from under the hood

Hey guys, i have a winding noise coming from under the hood...it sounds like an RC car when i accelerate...decelerate and at idle..in park etc....pretty much whenever the cars on...when i turn the car off it doesnt stop right away it winds down i thought at first maybe a fan bearing...but its on all the time...even when the fan isnt spinning...then i thought it was a belt but i was pretty sure the belt had more of a squeal or squeaking sound...any suggestions? i can seem to locat the exact location of where the sounds coming from and i havent brought it back to bmw yet but i was hoping that maybe befor i did that i could hear some suggestions and possible come up with a solution...please help lol

At first I was thinking maybe his turbo's were about to crap out on him. But then I noticed he drives an 06 325 so that's not the case...

Otherwise OP, I have no idea

Video? Does the pitch change with speed?

Or a constant whine?

Maybe it's the water pump? I think that stays on for a bit after shutting off the car.
