I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sport on my car right now (since yesterday actually). 19", 235/265 stagger. I wager they'll be perfect for street and occasional track (not 1/4 mile, a real circuit) driving.

Now I have continental DWS, adequate snow traction, AMAZING wet traction, and BETTER dry traction than the star specs in a straight line. They are very light, quiet, and have a 540 treadwear rating The big demerit against this tire is the insanely soft sidewall, which means these tires SUCK in corners.

For my needs, the DWS are perfect, but everyone has different priorities. Get what's best for you.
I just put these on my car and I can say they are great! I went from general exclaims then to Vredesteins. I got about 12k out of the generals in the rear and only 7k out of the vredesteins. I compared the flex of the sidewall on all 3 tires and I thought the DWS was stiffer than the Generals and about the same as the vredesteins. I'm hopping that I can get more than a year out of a set of the DWS's. I can really feel how much quieter the DWS tires are compared to both previous tires and they feel much more stable over 80mph ( my average commute speed is about 85mph). We had torrential rain last night and I left work and had great wet traction. Car felt well planted even at 80mph and HEAVY rain...my 2cents.

BTW, I have "DWs" on order...
In January, I finally NEEDED to replace my stock metal tires coated in rubber and had a decision as I was headed to Rhode Island for 3 months then out to Hawaii for the next 2 years. I decided after much debate to go with DWS tires so I wouldn't die in Rhode Island.

So far they are great. I have absolutely no issues in snow now, where my car didn't move in snow before. As far as the cornering limitations mentioned, I guess I don't notice it as much because the stock tires suck so much. As of now I love them.

How's the ride and noise compared to the OEM Bridgestone RTFs? I've been considering the Star Specs and wouldn't mind if they were as harsh and noisy as the RFTs, but if they were twice as bad, I'd reconsider.

The Super Sport is the official successor to the PS2. It's better in the dry and under wet conditions and holds longer. I had the PS2 on my car initially, they were really good. But the Super Sport is better.

In the latest issue of the German car magazine "sport auto" there is a comparison of ultra high performance summer tires and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport came out first among them all. Second was Pirelli IIRC.

I would try the SSports next... they are going to be way more than the Poles though.... tough to know if it will be worth it. With 400+ at the wheels, could be some shredding going on...

Gary from Tire Rack....

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....t+Super+Sport&

These are my next tires.....

235/35/19 = $277
265/30/19 = $354

that is very reasonable for what could be a top notch and LIGHT tire....

What offset are your wheels? I've got nitto invo's with 275/30-19's and they fit about perfect, minus slight non-harming rub over large dips. But the nt05's are a little wider then the invos, so wondering if you have different offset and if they rub at all?
