Outside temp reads -40-it's stuck. What gives?

Help, anybody- my 07 328i started displaying 1) engine service soon reading, and 2) the outside temp reads minus 40 and doesn't change. Anyone know about this? And where the heck is the temp sensor? Thanks!

broken temp sensor, been there.
