Quick help uninstalling my charge pipe please!! (With Pics)
So I am uninstalling my charge pipe (had it installed at a shop cause they offered to do it for free) and I just have two quick questions.
This vacuum line... Can I just pull it apart and re-attach to the stock parts or is there some sort of seal that I will break?? Do I just pop it off? ![]() And on the stock charge pipe there are these two smaller pipes coming off, one goes to each side of the air intake. Which one goes to which side? there is one at the front of the engine bay and one at the back... ![]() Please help me as I promised I would ship this charge pipe to the new buyer asap and he is waiting... ![]()

Don't pull that apart but be gentle because the cloth end of the tube is connected to the intake manifold and if you crack the nipple off of the manifold you are screwed big time...Be gentle with that attachment.

The end that attaches to the intake manifold is on a plastic nipple. If you tug and pull the wrong way it will break.
The vac line itself is like a chinese finger trap, the more you pull, the tighter it becomes. You need to push the line in, and grab the end and work its way off slowly. |

Here's a pic taken from the drivers side front quarter panel of how the stock charge pipe should look. The shorter of the 2 smaller pipes goes towards the front of the of the car as you can see in the pic.

I dont even bother even with those hoses...I am afraid to crack the nipple on the manifold so what I do is just cut off the hose thats attached and then razor the rest off to ensure of this...cutting off 3mm off the hose will not make it short for stock connection...This is 100% effective...Taking off those vac lines is a bitch regardless and even with jdbretz advice of pushing in, its still a bitch to get off sometimes!

F((K!!!!! I am losing my frickin mind. For some reason I can't get the back part of the stock intake back together! It seems to be a bit warped and the outer part wont fit fit over the inner part.
Anyone have any tips on being able to fix this problem?? Pic: ![]() THIS IS ACTUALLY THE BEST I CAN GET IT... :S

Try heating the pipe up a little to make it more pliable.

Push up from the Bottom pipe..that's the best way. You just have to grab the bottom accordion and push up onto the intake runner..don't try to push the intake into the hole.

All those aftermarket intakes combined with the heat cause the stock piping to shrink.
I got tired of it and went back to stock intake because of it actually. Use anything you can think of to safely stretch the pipe. |

One more question... and thanks so much to those that have helped so far.
Those two tubes that come off the charge pipe and go to the intake have small grey plastic rings on the ends that twist slightly to the right and left. I can't tell what the difference between right and left are. I assume one way is the "locked position" but does anyone know which way??
