18 volts to ignition coils? Mini-VIP
Would this work?
"Performance Distributors' Mini-VIP is a voltage step up regulator that works with any 12 volt battery to boost voltage output up to 18 volts." Test show 5HP increase. If we splice into fuse F01 or the 12v wire going to the coils, which seem to supply the 12v to the ignition coils. Does anyone know if there is just 1 wire which supplies the 12v to all the coils? The coil harness should have 1 signal wire for each coil and one 12v+ and one -. ?8 total wires. Any thoughts? |

They also recommend increasing the plug gap to 0.070". This will cause a higher voltage across the plug gap and a better, more efficient burn/combustion. They might be able to test the coils to see if they will handle the 18v.
