Some A-Hole keyed my car

Any ideas on how to hide a nice scratch down the side of my jet back e90? It is not down to the metal, more like just the clear coat. I went to AutoZone and got some of that black wax stuff, but it did'nt help at all...

By hand or machine?

You could try Meguiar's Scratch-X if you don't have a machine. Please post pictures.

eh i dont think scratch X can work on something like that its meant for light scraches and swirls....touch up paint maybe?

As a rule, I always recommend the safest/least abrasive step first, then step it up if needed. If it is not through the clear coat, then IMO touch up paint really is not needed.

Hmm.. so you mean one of those Makita drills with a polishing head on it? I dont want to burn the paint.. Maybe I will just pay someone to fix it for me.. I will take some pics today..

I think it's worth it. If you can put forth a few hours every couple months to detail your car then I think it's worth it. It's not hard by any means, just takes a little effort.

All great info guys. I too encourage you to look into investing in a Porter Cable buffer. It's the safest and most effective way for an enthusiast to get the most out of your detailing work.
