Thermostat? Heater Core?
No to little heat in the cabin. Upper radiator hose hot/warm lower cold.
No coolant on passenger side floor no smell of coolant. Does that pretty much mean it is thermostat??

Service History
I bought it with 53k on it E92 345i.
I got the service history from dealer... 17k miles: "coolant hose thick (32mm inside diameter)" 30k: "heater/heat exchanger permanent failure" 51k: "coolant return pipe leak" Hopes this help. Also what is a heat exchanger is it same as heater core??

id say try a coolant flush 1st, since u got it used, random coolant can be in your system, ENTITY did a nice and detailed DIY for coolant flush. Since BMW used blue coolant, make sure you see blue when u open the expansion tank
