Water spots help!
I washed my cars yesterday. BMW and Acura and I am disappointed with the results. After washing them I waxed them with Meguairs NXT 2.0 wax and I thought I had done a good job.
I use a shamwow towel to remove the water off the paint and then I wax the car. This morning it rained. I took the Acura this morning. In the afternoon all my windows had water spots the roof is filled with water spots and so is the body. The paint is not smooth as glass anymore it feels rough and coarse. The car looks like shit and I am pissed because I wasted all of yesterday washing and waxing it. It looks worse then before! How the hell can I avoid these spots? I am looking at ordering some new items soon. 30 Pack Microfiber Towels California Squeege (To get the water off) Suggest me a good wax and wash. I am using meguiars ultimate wash and wax and NXT 2.0 wax. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I would recommend using a porter cable combined with some good polish to remove any water spots that won't come off after a wash and then top it off with a couple layers of sealant which bonds with the paint to protect it. Once it cures layer it with some wax and your car should come out nice and help make it easier to remove the water spots in the future with wash while maintaining the gloss finish.
Oh and I would avoid using the california water blade and the costco 30 pack of mf towels. Any of the detailing vendors sells mf towels that won't leave any micro scratches on the paint. |

As everyone else has said DO NOT use the waterblade, here's what it will do to your paint:
I'd also ditch the shamwow in favor of a nice MF towel, but that wasn't your question. Rain sadly is a fact of life. If you just put a nice coat of wax on the good news is they should come off easily but sadly there's no way to really prevent them. Your best option is to give the car a wash and spray down with some quick detailer while drying with a MF towel. |
