Ipod Controls on 2006 E92 Without iDrive
I can plug my ipod into my aux jack and play my3s that way. And I also have a cigarette to USB converter so that I can charge the ipod. I can't however control the ipod from my steering wheel of the stereo. Is there an easy add-on to allow me to run the ipod from my steering wheel? I've also read about installing a USB port as well. What does that gain me?

I'm in a similar position and bought one of these...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kensington-L...2089302&sr=8-2 ..although I don't attach the control to the steering wheel, just took it out of the holder thingy and leave it in the 'bits & bobs' tray. Leave the iPod in the armrest all the time. Works ok for little money.

That looks a lot cheaper than my retrofit BMW ipod adapter (£200 for parts + fitting).
OP there are a number of options for doing this so that it is fully integrated but they will cost you from £300 upwards if you do not have a CD changer already fitted. |

I second Marty's question. I ordered the Kensington LiquidAux Deluxe with the crade but I notice there's also a Kensington LiquidAux without the cradle. I just want to leave the ipod in the console between the seats. Is there room to fit the cradle in there or should I return it and order the Kensington LiquidAux without the cradle.
Thanks. |

I've recent bought the Bluetooth version of the liquidaux and it works brilliantly. See my new ownership thread.

I bought the one without the cradle, just a connector. Sorry, it looks like my link was slightly wrong. I just leave it in the armrest permanently. I dare say you could just do the same with the cradle if you wanted or find somewhere decent to attach it on the centre console... Sorry again...

My Bluetooth one works really well with my iPhone, no need to connect it up unless I need it charging. But unless you have an iPod Touch it'll be no good for you.

Chaps,
I want to order a Kensington aux for myself. As mentioned above though,I don't think the version with the cradle will fit inside my centre console,so I would prefer the cradle-less version,as this is where my phone stays. I can't find one advertised though-just the version with cradle. Can anyone post a link up please? Take it there are no probs with these and the IP4 running the latest software? Cheers |

Yep that's it. Obviously you if you're listening to the radio you need to switch to AUX manually to take a call but everything else can be done from the remote. I just keep my phone in my pocket unless I'm charging it.

Not that bothered about the Bluetooth version as it's already hardwired into the I drive anyway,so anyone with the normal but cradle-less version, let me know what you think and a link please...
By the way chris(e91),did that boot liner turn out to be the bargain that it seemed? |
