GIAC Stage 2 Race and Aquamist HFS-2 meth injection - Logs
Today I did some logs on GIAC Stage 2 Race. I used a 70-30 methanol to water mixture, two nozzles - 1mm and 0.7mm and the "gain" potentiometer set at 2 o'clock. The "threshold" potentiometer was set at the minimum. The fuel was 98RON (93 octane - US version).
From about a dozen WOTs after I set up the system this way, timing was pulled on only one ocasion with 3 degrees, which I am not very concerned about. I'm pretty happy with how the logs look like. The first 3 logs are with GIAC Stage 2 Race, the 4th and last one is done with GIAC Stage 2. My observations: - On Stage 2 Race, timing is pretty aggressive, more so that what I have seen with piggybacks, but I suppose piggybacks can't increase timing over factory limits anyway. - Boost is identical to regular Stage 2. - The IAT values left me speechless - In second gear it seems that the boost is tapered, it slowly ramps up instead of building maximum boost at low rpm (see the 3rd log and the first part of first log). Car ran great, with not one hiccup or error code... Last edited by tscdennab; 04-12-2011 at 05:14 PM.. |

I am fully catless now, but I ran Stage 2 non-race with secondary cats on with no problems. Someone from GIAC wrote in a post that they only tested the EGT temperatures on a fully catless car, the EGTs may be higher with secondary cats on. I'm not sure how restrictive are the stock mufflers but there are many people running stock mufflers with no cats at high power levels and boost and they are doing ok.
