SA is a moron. Don't ever listen to a word they say again!

That's the official company line, and they have to tell you that. But it's BS. Ditch 'em and you will never look back! Your dental work will last longer, as well...

Just to confirm, non runflats work quite well on the 335i.
It is very common to use them instead of run flat tires. Tires http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...ires/index.jsp

I'm not sure about your service advisor, but ditching the RFTs was one of the best mods I've done to the car, and it still drives "properly"...

I have non-runflats on both my car and my wife's. MUCH better in noise and harshness vs. runflats. Runflats were horrible.

Re-read my response and think "sarcasm." SA told the guy his car would not drive "properly" without RFT's... hence the sarcastic response. Sheesh, it isn't as funny now that I had to explain it. For the record I switched from rft to non-rft's. |

After hearing what comes outta the mouths of some of these SA's I begin to wonder if the BMW job application states 'looking for morons with no prior automotive knowledge'
Of course you can run non-RFT's - prolly 85-90% of the members on this forum switch to non RFT's. I quit using mine after about 7000 miles. I use 17" Blizzak non-RTF's on my winter setup & 18" Conti DW non-RFT's on my summer setup. Ride is much better (not as harsh) with the non-RFT's even though I went to a lower profile tire. Handling is every bit as good with the way I drive. The non-RFT's do have more flex in the sidewall because they aren't as stiff as the RFT's - but you can remedy that by adding about 3-4psi more to the tires. Just remember that you will need either a Mobility Kit or a Jacking Kit/Compact Spare in case you get a flat (or a really good service that will come out and take care of a flat in a short time).
