335i MT Clutch Release Question
Hi all, any of you experienced this?
When releasing the clutch, close to the top, there is a "click" like feeling in the pedal. This happens pretty much at top, close to full release of the pedal. Is this normal? |

I don't have the "click" feel. It is smooth from the top all the way through. Perhaps drop by the dealer for a check up on this?

Check to see if the pedal is getting caught on something loose? Maybe wiggle the pedal left and right and see if it's loose.

I've researched this. You know what it is?
It's the spring on the clutch pedal. Nothing will get caught and there is nothing to worry about. It happened to me when I took out the stock clutch stop and now the pedal was traveling a little farther than before. The spring loses all tension when the pedal is pressed all the way and it falls in a little groove. That is the ticking noise. If you put in a little clutch stop or don't push it in all the way then the spring will still have tension and it won't tick. Take off the under panel and push in the pedal with your hand while looking at the spring, and hopefully you'll see what I'm talking about. If not then you have something else going on.

Mr.5, interesting input.
If i'm not mistaken, your experience happens when you "clutch in" as in depress the clutch pedal. Mine has no issue when I "clutch in" but when I release the clutch back towards the original position, close to the "top" the sound is there and I can feel the "click" too. It could be the spring you are talking about, i'm not too sure. Argh, need to get it checked. |

It's weird how it got better today. Really the "sticking" or "clicking" seemed to "heal" itself.
And it also happens to be the day that I had the dealership check it out. They could not find anything. I hate it when this happens. |
