Question Best Exhaust Option

Hello ppl:

I am planning to purchase an exhaust for my car [AT] 07 335i sedan. I really do not wish to experience too much drone. I also want to install downpipes with my exhaust.

Do you all think the BMW Performance Exhaust coupled with the a nice set of dps will make a good sound without the headache of drone? Also, I am having a hard time deciding on catted or catless dps. I have read that those with catless dps and full exhaust would experience the gas odor coming from underneath the car.

I had a full exhaust on a previous sport bike and my jeans always reeked of the gas smell. I was told my another forum member that this smell may be an issue and that I would have to deal with it if I went catless.

Any advice is appreciated......

Exhaust

Just installed a BMW Perf. exhaust yesterday on my stock 335i and the sound is great. No drone whatsover. The only issue I have is that the tail pipes stick out 2 - 3" past the rear valance, but everyone says this is normal.

My tech recommended the Ingen cold air intake, JB4 and AR Design catted downpipes (in that order). He stressed the pipes with cats so not to throw any codes. That said, if you hear of other options, I'm interersted.

Hey man, I read your post about the tailpipes sticking out a bit more than desired. There are so many option available that one could research for months and still not come to a definite decision.

Is the Perf. exhaust throaty? Is it quiet when cruising?

FYI, if you want your tips to stick out on your e90....buy an e92 exhaust.

in my early stages of modding, I added AR catted DP and did not throw any errors. Once I upgraded to GIAC Stage 1, I would get the SES light and thus, had to get the BMS o2 sim

Agree. Same here. Might as well get catless DP's if you eventually need an o2 sim anyway. I love the AE exhaust. Only issue I have with BMW performance is the performance, and the lack of weight reduction.

You know where to go for the install!
