thanx for the DIY, probably the most colorful language I have seen a DIY, Shiv should send a printed version out with the kit

this was working with 2-6 maps or are you talking about v3?

This was working with the 1-22 maps because I logged the data which showed that it switched maps between 1 and 2...I am using V4....All you would need to do is log the map selection on the Procede and you can tell if it is switching between maps....When it does switch over to maps, there is NO light indication when you have future 1 set to value of 1....

Just wanted to bump this for anyone considering the vishnu meth kit. Also, I want to thank cn555ic and dtp3347 for helping me with quite a few questions. This was my first time installing a meth kit and there are lots of little things to ask about when you have not done it before.

Now that I've had the full experience, including running the lines on ramps (twice -explanation below), and removing the remote, and hardwiring a switch to an unused, ignition on circuit in the fuse box, I'm more than willing to pass on the help that was afforded to me.

Hint 1: Buy some extra wire, and run about 3 additional wires to the front for future use. This helps if you want to wire an on/off switch to the cabin, or a light for low level fuel notification. I did not run extra wires, so I got to experience running wires twice on ramps. At 6'4" greater than 200lbs, it was no fun.

Hint 2: If you need an ignition on power source for a switch, there is an unused circuit that works perfectly in the fuse box behind the glove compartment. In my car, and for production dates 3/2007 to 9/2007 it's mini fuse F14. For 2008 models (from 9/2007) the diagrams show it as mini fuse F5, in the same location, but use a tester to make sure it's still ignition on only. The diagrams in the Bentley Manual come in handy. You can run the ground from the switch to the cigarette lighter (ground is the brown wire).

Hint 3: If you hook it all up, are using the remotes that come with the kit, and the log shows no meth flowing. Test your remote! I was worried for a while that something was hooked up wrong, but I took the remote to the trunk to listen for the remote switch to activate when I hit the on button and nothing. Dug other remote out of the box, hit the on button and heard an audible click coming from the remote switch box. Problem solved, the first remote I grabbed out of the kit was a dud.

Hint 4: The original clamp on the elbow you remove (closest to the driver seat) is not fun. Most people cut it off with a dremel. Suggestion, wear full safety goggles! I wore shooting glasses and was lucky enough to have a piece of metal hit my cheek bone and go under the glasses and into my eye. I got lucky, since it was from a deflection there was not enough force for it to stick in my eyeball, and it was just stuck under the eyelid. My optometrist said it was too easy for him to get out, and that he enjoys scooping things out of people's eyes. The material in that clamp is not magnetic, so it would not have been able to be rectified with a magnet, and would have required something more invasive.

Hint 5: The racing fuel container that VP sells with the deluxe hose option, makes filling the meth tank a breeze! http://www.vpracingfuels.com/page469715.html

Anyone on the fence about getting this kit, do it, and join in the meth fun.

Thanks! I'm good to go. I tested about all of the darn larger fuse circuits (that weren't critical systems) and they were all "always" on. Finally stumbled on one empty slot that was the mini fuse slot with ignition on. I didn't want to tap into an existing circuit if at all possible.

The pump alone can pull up to 15 amps max (even though typical draw is 4 amps).

I learned much more about the car during this whole process.

Thanks again!

Glad you got that system finally all working the way you want it to be setup...Damn I had no idea about the close call with your eye...I wore protective lenses also, but I turn the dremel to a moderate speed and not full blast.....Also bought one of those new dremel cutting bits that the cutting board locks into place....Damn those things were expensive, but it cut right through the clamp like it was plastic!! How you liking the meth injection....Its pretty addictive once you feel the power with it and without it! Took one of my friends out today for a quick test and he was pretty much in awe!

It's great. When I'm not logging, I like to put a piece of masking tape on the tank at the meth level, so after my drive, I can see how much it used.

You can definitley feel the progressive map switching by the car nosing up further as it kicks in. One thing I'm having an issue with is my shifting. I think you have to come off the throttle 100% for the quick shifts to hold boost. Sometimes I get it right, others I think I'm still a little on the throttle and the car bogs down and then ramps the boost back up. Will get it with practice.

Lower your upshift softening...that will create alittle more spike in psi, but it will recover faster!

Has anyone who's installed this put some extra protection around the wires and fuel lines that you run from the pump/tank tray to the controllers (sixth picture on pg1)? I noticed they just kind of sit between the trunk liner and the trunk floor.

I use my trunk quite a bit and was thinking about some type of small diameter solid pvc piping to act as a conduit between the controllers and pump. Will cause a little bulge in the trunk floor, but would add some protection for the fuel lines and wires.

Has anyone else done this?

I have an interesting problem. A couple months ago I took my car to BR Racing in Los Gatos to have a bunch of my mods taken off for an upcoming BMW service appointment. Today I have decided to re-install my vishnu meth kit and come to find out the shop had cut the wires between the pump and the controllers.

So I have the black and red wires coming out the back of the pump, with the black wire having the ground connector attached and the red wire just being cut.

Of the red, black and green wire that come from the controller and failsafe, the black and green wires have been cut, and the red wire ends with the 12v connector piece.

If that makes sense to anyone (or else I will take pics) can you please tell me how to connect the two wires from the pump to the three wires from the harness together so I can finish this install and terrorise the streets and mountains this wknd?

Thanks
