Question about first tunes

First of all, I added a BMS DCI and a SSTT, and this car has turned into a beast!! I can't believe the difference, it is amazing!

My question is does the SSTT make my car run hotter? I just got the tune the other day so I have been having some fun, so I expected it to be hotter, but usually when I am flogging my car around before the tune I would hit about 240 degrees now I an hitting around 260 degrees. (it has been about ~65 degrees here in Ohio during the day)

Also I am hearing a rattling noise when coming down from speed, normally at lower speeds, is that the wastegate valve? And does a tune propagate this problem even further? If I just let the rattle go will it do any harm or is it just a rattle. Because honestly I usually have the windows rolled up and the music on, so not sure if this has been doing it for awhile.

Sorry for the twenty questions, just trying to make sure I am not intentionally blowing my car up!

Does the rattling occur WITHOUT the tune? The waste gates *can* rattle without a tune being present.

If so, I would take the car to the dealer (assuming it's under warranty) and get them to fix it. SSTT taken off of course.

Another suggestion would be to get a better tune like a JB4, Procede or Cobb AP. These tunes are better engineered and safer than a SSTT. My .02$

I have noticed before without the tune, but I know I received the computer update a while ago. But not under warranty, so not sure if I just need to tighten the wastegate or if it is just a noise and can't casue any problems.

Does your car have an oil cooler.

If you think the SSTT is great you should try a real tune!

No mine is a 1/2007 build so no oil cooler, which is why I assume it runs a little hotter. Oh I would love a bigger tune, but being out of warranty I wanted to play it safe with how much boost I added to the system.

Go with any of the three I listed above and you'll be fine. You can use safer maps if you are worried about boost. Up to 15lbs there's really no issues.

The Procede adjusts the wastegates, although some feel this is not the proper way to fix the issue. It's definitely a cheaper way to address the issue.

I had the waste gate rattle for a long time and I thought the performance was still ok. The dealer replaced my turbos and the difference (afterwards) was dramatic. The car ran much better.

Definitely look into and oil cooler if you can swing the $$$.

Yeah I know the SSTT is pretty low boost as compared to what the others are capable of, but sounds like the rattle is just that then a rattle and nothing to worry about.

If it really bothers you, you can follow Mr. 5's guide and try and adjust them:

Yeah I seen that, but not sure if I really need to yet. I can't really tell if it is the wastegate or not.
