use it only when you see pollen, maybe 1-2 days after you wash. you sure dont want to scratch up the paint when there is more then pollen or dust on the car.

It works well..

I would think if it's dust and only dust on your car and the duster is clean you are probably good. But if there is ANY dirt I wouldn't use it. I'm WAY too concerned that these things mess with your clear coat so I say better safe than sorry.

I used one on my last car and it didn't seem to affect the paint but the car was also silver and not much stand out on silver. I would definately only use it a couple days after a wash and better yet only when the car is waxed. At least if you have a coat of wax on it shouldn't do as much damage, the dust/pollen will even come off easier.

I've been using one for about 5 years and they are very good when the car is just dusty. Do not use on a dirty car. Just bought one 3 days ago for my new car and used it for the first time today on it. I looked for small scratches after and saw nothing.

the surface has to be verry smooth for the duster to be fully effective so stick to taking care of the finish and the duster as occasional mop-up is fine.

The Duster actually picks up the dust. I use it on my Jet Black. It doesn't
leave any marks. When they are brand new it will leave little traces of the
wax in the strings.

Use it on my Jet Black and it does a great job, not scratches or anything.

When they are brand new wrap it in a newspaper for a few days, the newspaper will soak up all that wax so you will not get any on the car.

I use it only after a wash or zaino session to keep the dust off.
Even in a garage, the car will get pollen/dust all over.

Lately, I ended up buying a car cover.

But the duster works fine when just trying to remove dust/pollen from the car.

+1111 use it after waxing or zaino to keep it looking brand new during the tree mating season! Works nice and no scratches

I just bought one yesterday after reading your thread on "Pollen! I hate it!" I used to have an '03 G35 and I would wash it every Saturday morning. However, it would still get really dust / pollen-coated on the weekdays, so I would just run it down with my Cali Car Duster and it looked just like Saturday afternoon all over again.

Edit: Just to clarify, I had a Cali Car Duster with my G35, but then I lost it between that time and now--so I had to buy a new one...

If you're looking for something to keep your already-clean-car SPOTLESS, go for it... it's REALLY soft and won't leave any scratch marks (and only $20 including shipping!). But if you don't wash your car as often or if you get your car really dirty, you should look into something meant more for CLEANING your car as opposed to minor details like dust.

FYI when using a california water blade. make sure the surface is wet or else it could leave streaks.

It's a great product. I use mine a lot. Only to remove dust on a clean car though. If the car has bird droppings or sap, or it has been rained on, I don't use it. Then the car just needs to be re-washed. For summers without rain though it is a great thing.
