what was the maximum discounts you were able to get at the parts department?

What kind of discounts do garages (mechanics) get in Canada?

from what i know garages get cost +10% for any parts. im not sure its the same for every garage.

so what is the relation between cost and retail? is it double the price?

the markup price can be any percentage depending on the store and the market price. usually stores try to make around 40% and up.
