Anyone got their front bumper repaired/painted?
I recently scraped by front bumper. Paint is "cracked", i see hairline cracks near the impact. The bumper itself doesn't look damaged.
I do however, have small damages on my front bumper from the past. Nothing serious, but some places are "ripped/torn" due to the front lip. I was wondering, how much is a reasonable price to pay to get some front bumper repair + full repaint? Keep in mind, installation and labor all added. No hook-up prices please. I'm talking about general street price. Also, auto body jobs here in Oregon are a bit more expensive than california where competition is huge. Thanks in advance.

4~500 is what im expecting. but my insurance agent told me it could be as high as $1200 for complete bumper repaint and minor fixes to the bumper. He mentioned something about blending the front bumper color to the rest of the car. Which I think it is very important..
Sometimes when I buy a painted lip or something, it never matches the color of the vehicle. My car has nearly 70k miles and color isn't quite pure "alpine white" anymore. I'm very much worried how much this is going to cost me. DAMN...

to blend the quarters and stuff, sand your bumper, primer and paint. you should expect $500 for sure. it's worth it if it's a good job and you want it done. just make sure they make it perfect as you like bc you are paying well.

if its $500 to restore the bumper, repaint and blend with body color, I will be one happy guy.
I just hope they won't charge me $800+ for it... getting estimate from multiple places pretty soon. any know-hows or some advices to know before I go get ripped off?

i wouldn't blend, they should be able to get a color match to the rear bumper, as long as the bumpers match it will be in reason of the body color. i hate buffers at the body shop going nuts on my paint i have maintained near perfection. imho

Well I'm in the same boat. I was heading home and I hit a fin' rabbit. Just hairline fractures and a broken black plastic thing next to the fog. I already hit a pothole and bent two rims. Insurrance paused for new rims tires and bumper painted glad i hadn't had it painted yet. Lol.

$1200 is about the price you would pay if using insurance. My friend hit a tire driving behind me in his E92 and his bumper needed to be replaced along with the fog light bracket.
That's for replace and repair price. If they are not replacing the bumper then $400 should be reasonable assuming a close to perfect Either way. I would get three quotes and someone that actually works on BMW's (ask the dealer who they use for recommendations) Good luck.

I recommend posting a wtb and picking up someone's used cover. They usually go for ~$300 shipped (great condition). Though if your color has faded, it probably wouldn't match perfectly. Not the biggest problem for black
![]() I'm replacing mine with an LCI due to some rock chips and lower scrapes from previous owner, much cheaper to buy a used one from someone who upgraded to m sport as opposed to having mine repainted. There was an AW LCI cover for I think $300 shipped not too long ago. This is if you're handy enough to do the work yourself. |
