i took the car out for a quick drive today and notice that the "BOV sound" only happens if I throttle really hard to get the turbos spooling and then completely let go of the throttle really fast...
If I drive the car and get on the throttle hard but slowly let go of the throttle then this sound doesn't happen...just wondering if possibly someone with a DCI and an auto can try this out and let me know what they hear |

The noise happens both tune or no tune. Believe me, I've dealt with it for months.

I just searched youtube and found this video:
notice the sound when he shifts? sounds somewhat like a quite BOV thats EXACTLY the same sound as I'm getting (at 38-40 second range of the video)...so it's normal I hope? I'm really hoping it isn't a leak lol |

I have the JB4 and DCI... when slowly cruising (25-35mph) and flooring the gas and quickly letting off I get the faint blow off sound too... I think it's normal..
I get the exact same sound when my car is completely stock...

DUDE!!! AFTERMARKET intakes when you go from 2k-45k RPM's and then let off there is pressure... well the pressure gets released and that is what your hearing, completely normal. You can hear it suck if you get on it quick and then SWOOOOSH light sound but still can hear it with the window down.....
NORMAL!!!! if your power isnt there than thats a different issue... Same concept on any turbo charged car if you install a intake and a tune especially

Direct quote from Burger motorsports about their DCI
"Gain 15+ Horsepower at the wheels with no other modifications. Featuring high quality S&B inverted cone filters the BMS Dual Cone Performance Intake offers the highest possible flow in an attractive and easy to install / remove package. Not to mention intoxicating sound. This intake completely replaces your restrictive factory airbox assembly." ITS INTOXICATING AND PERFECTLY NORMAL!!! NEXT PLEASE!!! hsaha

Your charge pipe is still releasing pressure into the diverter valve which is audible, just not as loud as a bov when the pressure would be released into the atmosphere. If your not throwing a code don't worry about it.
