What are these canisters?
What are those two black canisters for? Looks like something that has to do with vacuum. The reason I ask is because while I was trying to pull out my damn DRL bulb, the pliers slipped off and I hit the bottom nipple on one of them and broke it off!!!
Now I need to figure a way to fix it FAST! |

I've got some glue stuff I had in the garage on it right now (hoping it sets quickly), but I'd like to replace it with a new part asap. Anyone know where to get it online, or what it's called?

If the glue I have holds well enough for now, I might just wait until I go down to Phoenix and buy one direct from a dealer there. I just don't want them to ask why I need it. . . |

Those are vacuum reservoir pressure accumulators........one for each turbo's wastegate setup.
The wastegate actuators are driven via vacuum constantly supplied by the engine driven vacuum pump and then stored and regulated via those pressure accumulators. To open and close the wastegates, the ECU sends a signal to the solenoid driven Electro-pneumatic pressure transducers, which then regulates the vacuum for wastegate operation. Since we have two of these pressure accumulators and solenoid tranducers which are both supplied vacuum in parallel, both operate in tandem.......so even though you only broke a nipple on one of those vacuum reservoirs, your wastegates would still operate although not at their ideal threshold. There, I said it...............my head hurts.
