Can\'t book my car in at bmw dealer for service!

So since yesterday have been trying to book my car in for brake fluid change as per idrive to maintain my auc warranty however my two local dealers keep hanging up whilst putting me through! I give up now they arent interested!

Is there anyway i can have this done at a specialist without voiding warranty?

Does anybody know why the two edinburgh bmw dealers staff are all drunk? Cultural thing?

Try Grassicks in Perth - family run company, you might find them more willing to take your business - just a short blast up the M90, should be a whilst you wait Fast Lane service job.

No risk to warranty either way on a new car, unless its an older AUC

How do you mean? I called a specialist and they said it cant void warranty as brake parts are not covered anyway so had nothing to do with warranty.

Not sure what to make of that.

Garage List
I wouldn't have thought that any brake servicing - fluid, pads or discs - would need to be at a main dealer. As long as the Insp servicing is done and stamped properly, I'd get everything else done wherever you can

Was one of the dealers Peter Vardy BMW by any chance? Brought my car from there and they were all a bunch of t**ts

Ended up dealing directly with the manager

Grassicks are ok,Had an Insp and fluid change there
They were more than half the price of others for the brake fluid change

There was a survey a couple of years ago (by Which? I think) that said Grassick's were the cheapest BMW dealers in the UK for servicing.

Can someone confirm for me weather this is true or not as I am about to book myself into a specialist for brake fluid change and don't want it to invalidate my auc warranty in any way should I have any problems with my car in the future.

New Car Warranty cannot be affected by having the service done (to the manufacturer's specifications) by anyone competent but AUC warranty is a contract between you and the dealer group and / or their underwriters. They can specify whatever terms & conditions they like, one of which is franchised servicing only.

Thanks, just waiting on a price from them. Menzies in stirling are looking at 90 all in, my best price from a dealer so far and they were polite on the phone!

Sorry to hijack the thread but if I put non runflats on my car will that affect my AUC warranty?

I think warranty doesnt get void so as long as you use geniune bmw parts for all servicing/parts etc...

only if the claim is related to the wheels (ie cracked alloy), it shouldnt effect your warranty for say for example if you had engine or gearbox problem because they have nothing to do with non RF tyres.

Edit: Some people have managed to get a claim for cracked alloy even on non RF and others havent -it just depends on the dealer and person you deal with.

A very late response, but John Clarks are really getting on my nerves up in Aberdeen.

Unlike the OP they have no issues with customers liaison etc, but the workshop team are just shockingly poor.

Everything seems rushed and pooly done.

Things just seem to drag on and after they replaced my actuators they left the steering tracking a mile out. They also put a deep scratch down my wing that they used touch up paint to cover without admitting.

It's been back to get the tracking done and was supposed to be painted at the same time but that was put back a few weeks.

Not impressed in the slightest.
