new tires and rims loud noise problem

got a new set of tires and rims a couple of weeks ago. and got problem whit a loud road noise.
went from the stock sice 225 45 17 in the front and 255 40 17 in the rear to 235 40 18 al around.

the first set of tires was som cheap non brand tires and ofcourse i thought that was the problem. so talked to the guy that sold me the tires and he was a god guy and told me that he would change them out for me and just pay the value difference to a new "brand" tire.

so i did just that. got a new set of nokian tires that ware suposed to be one of the more quiet ones. (al least i was told so)

but sadly my problem remains. very loud road noise still spec over 65 mph.
tried different tirepressure and does not make any difference to mention.
trid to stear right and left and no difference in soundlevel.

have hade both stock wheels on last summer and bridgestone blizzaks this vinter. never had any troubble whit road noise before.

so i wounder. have i had bad luck and selecting two loud brands of tires?
is it a faktor that the rims are 18" instead of 17"?

other faktors? bad bearing? noise is more prominent in the back but did not experience any noise whit the blizzaks.

any fixes?

thanks.

edit: car is a -07 330xd touring
