Angel light went off.

Hi, The left angel light of my e92 335i went off... the car is out of warranty. Does anyone know how much is it cost to get it fixed by BMW dealer? is it hard to DIY?

PS: also the engine oil level warning is also on in the IDrive system, my friend says the oil sensor is broken, does anyone know how much is it cost to get it fixed by the dealer?

Angel eyes are rather easy DIY, although easier if you remove the front wheels or have small hands. For one bulb it shouldn't be too expensive as high end after market replacements are $250 a pair. Check out www.GetBMWParts.com for good prices on OEM parts. Not sure about your oil light, may want to take it in to have it looked at?

OP has the e92, so he won't need to remove the wheels to change the AE. All he has to do is open the hood and open a cover and replace the bulb.

OP, try searching LUX H8 v3. It's a much better AE than stock and will look a million times better.

Pretty easy to replace on an e92. This should help...

I stand corrected, but +1 on LUX.

The dealer will charge per hour and they will do it to spec as assigned by BMW NA.

My father was quoted $560 to replace the passenger side bulb for the angel eyes on his old E65 745i.

It's a $22 bulb and I replaced it in 20 minutes without pulling the front bumper or completely un-installing the headlight which is what the dealer does.

I just loosened the headlight and then I had just enough room to work.

Not as involved on an E90, you do have to pull the wheel well liner. But I can actually do it from the top on my 330xi, without pulling any liners. Only have to remove the airbox on the driver's side if I'm working on that side.

AE bulb replacement in E92 is EZ as stated above. Just pop open the plastic covers over top of the headlights, twist and remove the old bulb, twist and replace the new bulb - takes all of about 5min...

They are H8 bulbs. You can go from buying factory bulbs, to aftermarket bulbs such as GP Thunder V2's (which will run you $12/pr on eBay) - slightly brighter & different color than factory, or go with the LUX H8 V3 LED setup for more $$ - but you won't be sorry if you do as they are the cat's ass
