so i did a lot of research think i may have blown my balast so i ordered a new one but before i put the bulbs in are these bulbs from sonic tunning the correct ones

I have heard from some people that their bulbs blew their ballast. We usually only recommend getting OEM Phillips or MTEC.

I bought a pair of Philips D1S 6700k from e92-lighting. They look amazing at night and no problems whatsoever. You do pay a little more but your low beams are something you don't want to cheap out on and have failing issues.

Very true. Trying to save a few dollars but you end up paying for it with the ballast costing about $700 new from the dealer.

Yes thats why i dont want to get into that mess again i found these and it says they are oem bulbs im not sure anyone that can show me the exact bulb in 6000k so i dont mess it up

It's ok brother. I've been where you are, and I know how much it hurts. I meant it in a constructive way. Jeong is 110% correct. Philips bulbs or nothing.

Search the forum for "sonic" and "bulbs" and you'll find a long thread discussing how Sonic bulbs blow ballasts.

Granted the more expensive replacements have had less issue but there is always a risk when changing the OEM bulbs. If you read through the post (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485482) Sonic Tuning admitted there was a problem with their original D1S bulbs.

We tested most of the D1S bulbs that we can get our hands on. (too many to list, and two other one had the same problem.
After bypass those capacitor the ballast works again.

Our factory did a total recall with these bulbs, and we have brand new batch that work with this ballast. (just installed on couple E90 and E92, should finish up testing this week)

As well, we did the same test with the Al Xenon 1 307 329 153 ballast (E92); no problems so far.

But most of all the OP posted that Sonic tuning refunded the price of the bulbs and the cost of the ballast. I would PM jose_sonictuning and see how successful the bulbs have been since they discovered the issue. If you're worried about blowing a ballast then save up for the more expensive replacements as others suggested. Or... stick with the stock bulbs.

I was the OP in the Sonic tuning thread w/the blown ballast. ~3 wks ago Jose gave me 6K D1S bulbs and they work perfectly. I think I can say they've fixed the faults w/the bulbs, but it's upto you to take the risk. Sonic overall is a good vendor, so I think it's worth the risk.

Are the bulbs from sonic actually philips xenstart?? And when u had ur problem did they repair ur balast or they left it up to you to do that urself

I'm not sure if they are Philips bulbs...I don't remember what the base said.
I got impatient w/waiting, so I ended up buying a ballast off ebay and got it installed by someone. Sonic reimbursed me for the cost of the ballast + bulbs. I think they have gotten everything sorted out b/c the new bulbs they sent me work perfectly.

All of the bulbs sold to E90 were recalled back, new bulbs work perfectly with Pre-LCI and LCI E90.

We have 200+ hrs on our test units.

We never had any problems with the E92 and the Al Xenon ballast.
Go ahead and PM me your order number, we will take care of the problem for you.

We also stock the MTEC, GE, and Philips D1S.

Yup, OEM D1S are 4350K. These are pulls when I changed my bulbs at 3K. Should last you a long while. LMK, I'm in NY too.
