Code p1030? will this cause gas cap light too?
i got a gas cap light and then another, which made the service engine soon light on. A little while later when my car was parked and idle, it skipped and the big amber engine light came on. The car was turned off and the Engine light was gone but the SES light was still on. Went to autozone and i got the gas cap code and the p1030....they didnt know what that code was. are these related. Also i went friday for this same problem and bmw change the fuel vent something and said it was good to go....now two days later...here i am....any advice??

The BMW FC for that code is 2A38 - VVT Control Motor Position Deviation (Bank 1).
Check the fuse for your fuel heater relay. |
