Shift Boot on Auto
Can I put this manual boot on my auto e92? I know usually you can but this one says for cars the have the OEM short shift kit?

Well I suspect as you probably do that it would be a bit short and not reach the bottom of the shifter in all positions. I'd suspect in D it would show the stalk a bit since. But it's certainly worth a try. Most places have a return policy so give it a try.

Possible if you also remove the plastic panel that has the PRND LED indicators.
I'm using the MT boot on the MDCT shifter knob (which has the PRND LED indicators on the shifter itself). No problems with height either. The base of the MDCT knob, auto knob, and 6MT knob are about the same height. The knob itself adds to the overall height. |

ive seen it on e46. it seems that the overall shape is the same once you remove the a/t surround. the lights and letters would be gone but its a clean look. same as how it doesnt matter whether you buy manual or at center trim piece
