brushed aluminum interior fix

does anyone know how to get rid of light scratches in the aluminum center console. i heard someone say a brilow pad but didnt want to try it until i knew it would work.

lol, that made my morning.

Don't use a brillo pad....you'll just have even more scratches by the end. The only way to rid of scratches is to just buy a new panel. Unless you know how to finish metal, that is.

yeah i didnt want to try it. i thought it would ruin it. it was the sales man who i bought the car from haha thanks guys

One thing you might try (the worst case is that you replace the piece) is a watch refinishing pen.

Since the alu trim is very thin you'll need to work very carefully and use a very light touch. Use the pen (basically a bundle of fibers contained in a pen like tool and is intended to repair the brushed finish on stainless steel watches) only in the direction of the grain.

Unless you refinish all the pieces you'll always see the spot you repaired but it may look much better.

In general though, those pieces aren't fixable.
