Ugh help decide!
Okay, I already ordered my AR Catless DP. I was planning on deleting secondary cat and mufflers when I get them installed. However, for the 600 or so that it costs to delete cat and mufflers I could spend a few extra bucks and get an AMS FMIC and install that instead.
FMIC will end up costing me a few hundred more in the long run, however I can run map 2 when it comes out! Although I may not want to as gas mileage will get ridiculous.. I do know FMIC will be easier on the turbos, however I'm sure with straight pipes they'll be happy enough running the 93V2.02, and usually in the evenings its 15 celcius or cooler in Calgary anyways so I'm not to worried about heat soak. If I go FMIC I will not have the type of sound I'm looking for out of my bimmer! If I go Straight pipes, my car will sound like pure sex!! Louder then most exotics and I will have zero back preasure! I'm on the fence, this is a hard one! I wish I knew what kind of numbers the stage 2 will put down, how safe it will be for the turbos / engine ETC. What do you guys think? AMS FMIC and just DP, or DP and Straight pipe my exhaust!!! |

i would go FMIC way considering summer is approaching as well . you can fix an axle back exhaust later. Secondaries do not need to be removed. you wont begaining much from those.

I'm thinking I'll go FMIC. I still really do want to delete the mufflers! Will I notice an even louder sound deleting the secondary cat when deleting the mufflers? Maybe I'll just do both...

its not going to sound nice. its gonna drone and be raspy. If you have AT its gonna be sounding really shitty. Keep the secondary cats or if you really want to go catlees put some big resonators instead of race cats. There are axle back exhaust that will sound pretty loud. Eisennmann Race is one of them but will drone a bit.

FMIC without question. Your car will thank you. I run DP/IC and unplugged exhaust flapper. I love the sound and it's plenty loud, especially in DS mode.
