JB4 HELP!!!!

So i installed my JB4 and just bought the usb cable for it but i dont know how this works. I pluged it into my laptop and it didnt install it. is there something else i have to install before this works? I have like 30 min before i have to go to work to and i would like to get this done before then thanks for the help


P.S. I did goggle this before posting.

you need to download the jb4 interface from here for 1/21 or earlier firmware or here for 4/20 firmware. Install the driver included in the zip, then install the interface. You need to change the com port in the jb4 interface. Install thread can be found here

so i did all that but it still wont read the com port number as the right one it keep saying failed com3

i had the same thing, turned out that i pluged it to wrong usb port.

ignition on engine off you need to power the jb4 hope that helps.

Try this. Right click my computer and click properties. Then go to the device manager. In that window, there should be a list of connected devices that are on the com ports. Use that com port in the JB4 interface. Make sure the car is on when you try this. Do you have the 4/22 interface? Maybe your JB4 isnt the most recent version which means you will need the older interface for it.

Also, in the folder that you unzip for the JB4 interface, there is a USB_driver included. You might need to run this. windows 7 took care of it for me but idk about other OS'.

Remember power has to be on (i.e. ignition fully on)
