What to use on headlights to prevent UV damage?

I'm thinking of restoring my headlights soon on my other car but i couldn't find any product i could apply afterwards to protect the headlights from future UV damage/haziness. I read 303 Aerospace might help but not sure how effective that would be on the long run. Any other suggestions on what products will do the trick? Thanks

Polymer Technologies Opti-Coat, this polymer coating will provide UV protection to headlights etc

Providing protection from ultra violet radiation (UV) is very important to avoid photo synthesis (colour fading / yellowing) UVR protection is a sacrificial / renewable component; this is due to the UV protection layer being degraded by exposure to the elements (sun, sand, road or sea salt, and etc) so it is imperative that you renew it and needs to be re-applied on a regular 45 to 60 day basis (dependent upon location climatic condition)

A clear coating will highlight what its applied too. Ensure all scratches are removed before application (3500 - 4000 grit finishing paper)

fairly certain 303 aerospace will be gone the first time water hits your headlights

I honestly woudln't worry...if it happens, just polish it off and use one of those kits

You'd have to be applying UV protection weekly to really be effective, wax is probably the best without marring the look of your lights

Optimum Opti-Coat™ is a little more complicated to apply

Optimum Opti-Seal ™

This product is manufactured by Optimum Polymer Technologies; according to Optimum it forms a permanent coating that acts as a second layer of clear coat that bond to all paint surfaces.

Opti-Seal ™ is hyper-concentrated, so a little bit goes a long way. One ounce will seal and protect 3-4 vehicles. It comes with an 8 oz. Spray bottle and a foam applicator pad. A 2-4 µ (microns) film build is claimed and as a clear coat is approx 2-3Mils (50-76µ) thickness; a 2-4µ is substantial.

If this applied thickness is sustainable it would have a massive impact on the car paint protection coatings industry.

Application
• It cannot be emphasized enough ‘Apply products very sparingly’
• Before you apply the sealant shake the bottle thoroughly
• Do not apply during direct solar irradiation or to hot surfaces, cool temps are best for application
• Carry out all your prep work to get the paint to your level of personal perfection? (Washed, clayed, polished)
• Make sure you give all panels an alcohol wipe- down.
• Use a soft micro fibre towel with enough product for one panel
• Using a medium pressure rub in until you notice the product flashing off and then using a clean short nap micro fibre towel buff the panel
• The Opti-Coat dries to the touch in 30 min and fully cures in 12 hours.
• If you have any areas that look hazy you can use an orbital with soft polishing (LC CCS 80 / 100 PPI) foam and a light polish (Menzerna Final Polish PO85RD) to reduce it down and then re-apply.

Check to ensure any wax you use does in fact contain UV protection (it is not a natural ingredient of wax, so it must be added)
