New Tires
So I just dropped the car off. I chose the Conti Extreme DWS (I live in Maine and do not drive on HUGE snowfall days)
The stock Bridgestone RF were brutally harsh and i got about 10k out of them. Anyone have luck with these conti's. Cheers! |

The DWS tires on my 128i have performed flawlessly for 10,000 miles. Even when a nail introduced itself into the tread, it only caused a pressure loss of about 4 psi per week. Total tread life (replacing at 3/32") should be something like 30k rear and 50k+ front. The only downside is a slightly mushy feeling on initial turn-in which is somewhat helped by increasing the pressures a few psi over stock. And I paid less for 4 DWS tires than 2 OEM RFTs would have cost. Tom |

sorry i also didn't mean for it to come across as harsh - I only said this because I was hunting for these tires as well so I know for a fact there are a lot of reviews on them in the tires section. I read great things, but was unable to find them in my size and got impatient.

I got the DW and they are great. I wouldnt ever go all/season. Youre going to go through 2 sets of tires so why not make 1 dedicated snows? That way you get the most out of your car. Stopping distances and handling are better too. A/S is a compromise isnt it? My 2 cents.

well that was 4 months ago, and I already purchased some hankook's and put 10K on them haha. There was a national backorder (tiredirect, tirerack, and every local place told me the same thing) for the size... i can't remember right now though
