HPF FMIC + Procede v4 = map2 or map1 still?

Just like title says, Im getting my new(used acutally) polished HPF FMIC installed over at Lutz Performance tomorrow.

Im currently a STOCK e92 335i with a unlocked procede v4 with latest firmware/mapping.

So just running the procede + HPF IC should I still stay running map 1 or should I switch it to the more agressive map 2?

I will be doing downpipes in a month or two, figured because im located in hot FL, the FMIC would be more proactive mod.

If you are still using the V4 firmware on the Procede, you should have autotuning enabled on it. You can leave it on Map 1 and it will automatically increase the boost after the addition of the IC. Just do a few 3rd gear pulls from 3000 RPM's to redline and let the autotuning work its magic. The main difference between Map 1 and Map 2 is how much boost they start at before autotuning begins (13.5 Map 1 and 14.5 Map 2). If conditions are right, Map 1 will autotuning itself to be as aggressive as Map 2 starts at.

With 92 octane, my car with V4 would autotune to almost 15 psi when I was running just an HPF intercooler and DCI. This was in ~80+ degree weather. YMMV. Always good to start low and work up. Just map 1 it and let the V4 do its magic.

cool, thanks for the replys guys.

Im excited! 15psi sounds fun ^^.

I do have stock air box though, Im planning on doing a drop-in filter at the most. With this heat i want to say with a closed air-box.

Thanks Travis

You'll see having a dual cone air filter is the way to go. The stock box will hinder or restrict the total horsepower potential of the engine system and new engine enhancement components.

I too was under the impression keeping the stock box is better than having open engine mounted filters. But in our case, we want the system to have the ability to draw more air than raised air temperature concerns. This is where your aftermarket IC can further reduce on coming air even further than the stock IC.

You're on the right path to the ideal package.
