My windshield got cracked this morning
On my drive into work this morning something came at me at supersonic speeds and cracked my windshield
Here's the pic. It's about the size of a quarter. My question for the crew is do you usually have the dealer replace the windshield or a company like Safelite? |

If you were local, I'd suggest you come here Ali, but since youre pretty far for this sort of thing...
Most people have glass coverage with their auto insurance. Verify that you do then take it to the dealer. Reason being that you want an OE windshield and windshield molding, not the aftermarket crap safelite will give you. D |

this exact same thing happened to me too. Sucks - need to get it replaced at some point.

I called Geico and they told me to use safelite because that is who they have a contract with. They said if I go to the dealer then it would cost more and I would have to cover the difference. The insurance agent told me that Geico will cover up to $849.65 and I'm like how expensive can the dealer actually be lol.
I just got off the phone with my service rep and he told me it would cost $674.41 for it to be replaced. Like usual, the insurance company was just trying to make an extra buck. |

lol! no, it started to leak all over my knees when in rain or snow, because it was improperly installed, and sealed.
