Some advice
Alright I am looking at a 2008 M3 coupe for 37,000. I has 48,000 miles on it and has premium package and cold weather. Check the carfax and it looks good. Is this a good deal?

Only 2000 miles left in the warranty
So if you get it, go over it with a tooth comb, and see if you can find any issues

Wow. Agree. Check it out completely by a BMW tech.

You shouldn't rush any car decision. The price is unbelievably good. So much so that I'd want a tech to look it over. Id call the BMW dealership over where the car is, ask them to do a diagnostic, and make the deal. They usually charge $200 for it... And I'd say that's worth it.

I'd check with the closest dealership. Is it a lease car or someone's bought car?

I think I know what car you are talking about. Being that it's a leased car, you maybe ok as is since the owner had to take care of it for so long. It still seems like a much higher mileage car. Ask if it is mostly highway or city? Did he get on it hard or not? Whats the thread wear on the tires. That'll tell you a lot of the driving habit of the previous owner.
I would still have it inspected by the dealer. Offer him $200 or so to inspect the car before you go up there so you don't get pressured into buying a car you may not want.

As a side note, carfax is unreliable. My previous car was t boned before I bought it but the carfax didn't show it on the report.

have the owner take it to the closest dealership and have them do a pre-purchase inspection. Talk to the SA and tech who will be working on your car so that they provide YOU with their checklist and review any issues. the car's owner does not need to know any of this info as to not slant the tech's inspection.
I've done this on cars on the other side of the country before I bought them and it worked out fine.

Price is okay, just high miles for a 2008. Most people are at 20k-ish.

take a day off work and have it checked out appropriately (as stated above). It will be worth it in the long run.
