Error on speeding citation.

Hello all. I've got a speeding citation at around Mission Veijo, California about 3 weeks ago. I realized under the Veh. model section on my citation, the CHP putted 335i instead of 328i (maybe because i did the dual exhaust conversion?). I wonder if i stand a chance to dismiss the case due to this error?? Opinions NEEDED plz plz plz.. Thank you

No. It won't be dismissed because of that.

Highly doubt it. They will just fix it if you bring it up, and if he really thought it was a 335i because of the exhaust, you run the risk of them investigating why you modified the exhaust (and I think emissions are more strict on a 328, no?)

They're not gonna dismiss the citation... It's for speeding so key info on the ticket are location, time and lic plate/vin.
How was the traffic when you saw the cop? Was there any bigger vehicle near you?

I don't think that is enough. Wrong license plate or Vin yes you could fight it, model, nope.

The 335 v 328 can be part of your case to dismiss, but it's not automatic. My buddy had Iowa plates. The cops regularly got the wrong abbreviation for Iowa on the tickets. He had 2 tix dismissed bases solely on this. 3rd time was a no-go. It's the judge's call, which means court time for you, etc.

Good luck.

Don't pay those silly websites that promise to give you info how to fight traffic tickets... If I were you, I go to court, plead guilty and try to come up with a valid reason to have the judge decrease the bail. Kinda hard since you drive a BMW hehehehe I'm sure you can come up with something. Think about the time and hassle of going to court and how much the citation was, if al is worth to go to court for, do it.

i've no idea why you think that he put the wrong model of your car would stand a chance in getting it dismissed, but either way, good luck with the ticket. fight it or just take it either way i would want traffic school to avoid every hassle you can get into.

I m not eligible for traffic school anymore, otherwise i would just pay the bail and do traffic school. Thanks
