It is legal to own a detector but illegal to use. (How that works don't ask). That being said you can transport one as long as it is not in the cabin (trunk only). If a cop see's it or detects it they will confiscate it and give you a ticket.

However, lets say you are using one and a cop is on you/pulls you over for having it. A trick is to leave the rear seats folded down. Have the box in the cabin, put the detector in, toss it in the trunk and if your stronger, flip the folded seat back up and you wont/shouldn't have a problem; because its no longer in the cabin, you are "transporting" it.

Another trick is to keep a fedEx/UPS envelope. It is against the law to read someone else mail. Get pulled over, throw it in, seal the envelope. Act as if nothing happened.

Hi 99three, I'm interested in your radar detector (for real, not tire kicking) but am I missing something as I went to the Cobra site and they are selling it for $99 and another online place for $79.99 and your asking $150 ?
