Jb4, meth, and maps.

I feel like my car gets slower over time when set to map 3. It really has nothing to do with the meth, or the acivation settings. The car feels slow from 0 -8 psi. The boost is on target and rasies very quickly but the torque seems to be missing the rear wheels. I can barely spin my tires now unless I reset the ECU. Seems like right after the reset the car pulls strong but after it gets a chance to adapt the car gets slow.

Anyone try JB4 race maps instead of map 3? Map 2 seems to be pulling harder than map 3 for me right now. I am wondering if the addative, failsafe, feedforward, autotune features are all getting along well on map 3 exactly perfect yet. I can pass on some of the bells and whistles if I can get back to smoking my tires on command.

How do you reset ECU? Do you mean JB4? Are you just cycling off map three and back or are you reloading firmware? Remember If your car has high miles you might wanna clean the valves intake side. Direct injection lets our valves cake up with crap. Look at some of the pictures in the "how too" valve cleaning posts! I would imagine it would rob you of power. Increased boost only adds to the problem. Catch cans may help a bit but I've seen pixs of valves with catch and didn't seem much better. I know your troubleshooting points to Map selection but maybe its tuning out do to this excessive build up. Just an idea but I'm just an N54 noob.

What is your boost set to? If its greater than or equal to 16.5psi map 7 will not be faster.

I adjusted my meth spray to a higher psi. I think it was robbing the car of fuel down low keeping the car from accelerating as hard is it could due to a fuel cut caused by dumping lots of meth at low rpms. So in drive, i step on the pedal and the meth cuts on for a few seconds, I am only at like 3500 rpms so the car offers less fuel at 3500 rpms in every gear! So, in 2nd gear when i step on it, boost is lower at 3500rpms so I have no meth helping and still have less fuel because the system has adapted to use less there. Thats my theory anyway. I'll see if it holds water over time. If not, I may be losing an 02 sensor. I have been getting misfires in cylinders that have new plugs and new coils in the 2-4-6 bank.

Thats not how the fueling works, the system wont adapt like that. This is open loop fueling. You if you have less meth the system will still target a certain AFR and add fuel accordingly.

Just know if you do that you loose your failsafe.

Looks like Terry is adding the meth feature to map 6 very soon!

Open loop??? or Closed loop?? Keep in mind that jb4 and cmgs and the flow sensor are all working together now.... I think??? I want to say I read that now cmgs/jb4 is closed loop targeting the AFR together. If I am mis-informed I apologize and don't wish to confuse or encourage anyone to try something foolish. If that is the case, I need to figure out why my car is losing pull shortly after each ecu reset. I am used to my car getting faster and pushing more boost as Jb4 and the DME dance a few times together. It seems like now my car starts out amazingly fast after the reset (no matter what map I choose, even map 0 is very strong thanks to the bolt ons), then seems to lose its spunk as days go by. Boost is still on target but the pull at 10 psi isn't as torquey as the pull at 4 or 5psi in 2nd and 3rd gear. Somehow, the car has done well since I dialed the min meth spray up around 10psi, high enough that I can 3/4 throttle in D and not spray any.
