Hi. I placed an order on my car this weekend on Saturday. Today I received a fax listing the packages and price totals, etc. I am not sure if I have a production date set in stone yet but this is what the piece of paper says. The dealer said once they mark the vehicle as sold, they should have a production date in a week thats why I am a little confused. It seems I already have a production week according to this paper.

you dont have a production number yet. A production number is a 7 digit code. It should start with 36*****.

I got the same report he is referencing. You don't get it without a final production number. It's on there. I don't have it at work with me.

Called the 800# and the chic said production will be finished at the end of May. Does this sound right if I ordered on May 5?

It depends. If your dealer filled you in with one of their allocations the car could go into production after just a few days. So yes it does sound right.

Then I just called back and talked to another guy and he told me build week is week 21 lol.

This is what happened to me, dealer filled me in on one of their allocations I saw it from the list and he just altered it to my specs, he said it was their June allocation. It first was a Alpine White then I saw it change online to my correct color within 2 days. So I wonder if that means I could go into production later this month, dealer said it would be June production. Well see...

Now the sales manager tells me week 21 but the 800# rep tells me week 25. He said he checked with them and they said week 21, wtf? lol

Trust me you can drive yourself crazy checking everyday, I try not to do it but it doesn't work I tell myself I won't call till next week and then I find myself on the phone the next day. I almost got CA but decided I've been using BMW remote now for 8 yrs and it's never been a problem so why change now? Of course it's all a personal decision, Congrats on your build. I saw the gray poplar wood in person and was impressed. I've grown tired of regular wood trim.

I'm still confirmed for week 23. Only 2 more weeks and my baby should be born. :rocks:

I placed my order on 5/4.

What happens is dealerships sometimes have cars that they know are getting built that they can start up to spec for you. Other times they start from scratch, which can take a really long time.

I placed my order on 5/4, got my VIN on 5/10, per the 800# my vehicle is being built and is set for completion on 5/22.

So to me, sounds right. I hear it can take up to a month from that completion date though to get the car.

I heard from one person at the 800# that it would be completed last week of may, i've heard so many diff stories heh..I got a production number right when I placed my order though. The car was selected along with a few others he was spec'ing out.
