Hey all,
I'm about to embark on my 9500ci installation and have a few customizations that I want to include, but can't find any documentation on how... The first is that I want to integrate the audio output from this system into my audio system. When the detector goes off, I would like it to take over the audio focus in the car by muting the current audio stream, just like the nav and chimes do by default. I'm not sure if this is a MOST bus hack, but it must be possible. Does anyone have any idea? The second is, since I will be flush mounting my fancy button panel, I would like to relocate the momentary power button located on the top of said panel. I popped the cover off of this thing and the electronics are TINY. Far too tiny for my soldering skill level. Is there another alternative, such as implementing a momentary switch in line with one of the 4 wires coming from the panel? How is this done? The third and final (for now) modification I would like to do is to change the color of the LEDs in the fancy little control panel. There is nothing BRIGHT BLUE about my interior lighting, so I'd like to change it to a matching orange. Any suggestions? Farm out a LED replacement? Orange tinted film trickery? Thanks, Chuck |

You will find that changing the color of the output of an LED is different than doing it with a "grain of wheat" bulb.
The display is custom for Escort and no one AFAIK has found the amber/orange version of the display component with the same pin count. |

I hear ya about the tiny tiny bulbs; I may just try and find an electronics shop that can do that kind of work.
The display is less of a concern for me at this point, however, this install is pretty trick. Would you imagine that this is possible with our cars? I see that you guys do these installs with a remote on/off switch. You're far from around the corner from me, is this something that I can outsource to you? Ship my parts out, you modify, and return? Thanks, Chuck |
