Question REALLY!?!?!

"H&R sport springs will eventually cause your oem struts and dampeners to wear out - much more quickly than if you were to leave on the oem springs, so it is recommended to change out the struts and dampeners."

That quote was from another member on here. Was just wondering, do they really????

they will all wear eventually... some say it shortens the life a lot, some say a little, then some say none at all. if you have sprt suspension you should be fine for a while.

When you lower a car, you make the car ride at a height that it was not designed for. This can affect suspension geometry, alignment and wear on items like bushings.

On a strut or shock, it means that it continuously rides partially compressed, again, at a height it was not designed for. Also, as lowering springs typically have higher spring rates, the oscillations of the suspension over bumps will be at increased loads and a different frequency than stock, ones the shock was not designed to damp. This can increase the rate of wear on the shocks and cause them to wear out faster over time. As for estimating how much quicker it will wear, who knows. Your mileage will vary depending on driving style.

Correct.. u always match the dampers and the springs the OE dampers will absoluetly wear quicker on lowered springs

on top of the additional wear, i dont know the HR spring rate, but if it is much higher than stock the car will feel oversprung/underdampened which is uncomfortable in itself.

and since you "drive like a criminal" i would say your shocks will take a crap sooner rather than later =p
