Max hp for stock intercooler?

Hey everyone. I was wondering how much hp to the wheel the stock intercooler could handle safely?

stock HP is what the stock IC was made for, remember, its not just about HP numbers, its about the weather you're living in too.

I would say it starts to become a pretty big bottleneck at 11-12 psi and above where heat levels are significantly elevated. And like Elie said weather plays a huge role so it's more about consistency run after run. Could flutuate anywhere from 10-20+ whp difference depending on heatsoak vs stock ic and ambient temp.

just do it... get a FMIC.

The consistency is noticed. It just pulls harder. You won't be able to put your finger on it. It will just heat soak and drop your power.

Get one.

even the base mild tune settings (13-14psi) will be pooping with that stock IC...

Hotrod is push 550whp with nitrous + meth and stock intercooler.. so with meth you can really push it, I have yet to upgrade my stock intercooler.
