hey guys my e90 2007 335xi started to make a rattling noise under the car when accelerating and on idle.. took it to the dealer ( still under warranty ) they decided to change the turbos. took 5 days to get it fixed. i received the car today and the rattling noise dissapeared on idle but still there on acceleration.. took the car back at dealer,

PROBLEM: CUSTIMER STATE THERE IS METTALIC SOUND WHEN STARTING CAR. ACCELARATING HEARS IT MORE

COREECTION: DID ROAD TEST AND DETERMINED THAT THE LIGHT RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM NEW TURBO NORMAL...

a new turbo rattling is normal?

any advice what i should do next?

Tell your SA he's an idiot. My turbo's have 0 metallic rattle in them

I just picked up my car with new Turbos with the 8mm wastegate rods, and compared to before its very very quiet. I don't even hear anything unless I bend under the car. What did you get? You might hear a very slight racket but you have to really be looking for it. If you got new Turbos and you hear rattle, maybe you should be checking heat shield\exhaust clearance never know, it might be touching somewhere.

that what i really wanted to say but i want them to fix my car so.. im gonna try to solve the problem without insulting my SA LOL

the wastegates are inside the turbos right? so if they changed turbos that means i have new wastegate rods?

Yeah insult them after your warranty runs out and they fix your car

No the rods are outside the Turbos. But new Turbos come assembled with actuators and rods. I don't see how they could have swapped in your older rods so I'd assume you are right. Which is why I suspect your issue is elsewhere.

Post a video we'll tell you if its sounds normal or its in your head.

ive tried recording but the noise is not loud enough so the camera doesnt catch the noise

I wouldn't worry too much then. I mean a little mechanical noise is normal. But in your case I have no idea without hearing it myself. If you hear wastegates you know what i is. If you have the old style rattling wastegates, its usually bad enough even non-car folks can hear it and point out something very wrong with your car.

Try parking in-between two other cars, rev and let off the gas see if you hear anything and if its recordable. The two other cars will help amplify the noise IMO.
