Monaco F1 GP Advice Required
I'm planning to do a driving trip from Glasgow to Monaco to catch the Grand Prix next year.
It's something i've always wanted to do but never got round to. So i want to get it planned, booked and hopefully round up a wee posse/convoy. Has anyone done this? Any advice on the route, or where to stay and what tickets are best to get? Thanks in advance. |

I'll get this suggestion in nice and early.
It adds at most 2h to go via the Nurburgring and then the german autobahn, cut throguh the top of italy and down that way. I'd also say that the Pistenklaus near the ring would be an absolutely great place to stop for a night on the way down. Few steins of Warsteiner, steak on a stone: Wake up in the morning, do a few laps, then continue on your way down to Monaco How could you not http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...46&ie=UTF8&z=5

Not sure if i trust myself on The Ring to be honest. But i like the idea. The issue is i have far more power in my car than i have talent! But thanks for the map...loving that Ta |

Check Direct Ferries, Newcastle-Amsterdam. I did a search for September and found it to be very reasonable; £380 return with an outside en-suite cabin. Also Newcastle is closer than Hull to Glasgow.

Hmmm, definitely off-putting I agree. However, you could always take a picnic and shut yourselves in the cabin.

I mean clearly the fastest way is to drive all the way down to Dover. It just comes down to if you want to enjoy the journey a little more, and if you would consider the above enjoyable or not

I've been doing research for my own trip and everyone I talk to says to stay outside of Monaco and drive in for the race/qualifying... significantly cheaper. Don't know if that helps at all?

I reckon I'll view your first option as a bonus and catch the ferry from Newcastle |

And Driving down the M6/M1 is no fun....so NCL is my preferred choice, with the added benefits mentioned above |
